This probably speaks more to how nobody actually watches my video reviews (these are my Blip.tv stats).
One day I want to try releasing a whole “season” at once just to see how that would do, but I worry that’s going to end up another Halloween scenario where I do all this work and maybe 10% of “my audience” pays attention to it.
I’ve seen one or two of your video reviews, and you definitely seem like you know what you’re talking about. The thing about me though, is I’m constantly listening to music or something, so I tend to prefer to read reviews. Don’t take my opinion only though, I’m just one dude.
See, the reason I wanted to start making video reviews was the opposite: A lot of people don’t like to read, but it’s theoretically easier to keep somebody engaged when it’s video. There was a time where when given the option between reading text review and watching a video review, I’d just watch the video review (this was especially helpful when Gamespot would post both, and the text used in the review was just the script they used for the video).
But… I dunno. Maybe I’m just getting disillusioned. I’d say “Who even reads my text reviews?” but I guess my SA2 review did get like 107 comments on TSSZ, which is some kind of record for me, I think. So obviously somebody read it, and it generated legitimate discussion.
I probably shouldn’t be beating myself up as much as I am. It’s been a rough few months, but I need to keep my chin up and all that, I guess.
