Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland - Livestream Archive
Here’s an archive of the Goosebumps Livestream. It was a pretty short game after all! 146 minutes in total, give or take, so about 2 and a half hours. If you’re looking for the Jeff Goldblum scene, give this link a click.
That… certainly was a mid-to-late 90’s adventure game. Right down to the fact that there are items at the beginning of the game you can pick up and need to take with you to the end - and as far as I am aware, once you pass a certain point, you cannot go back and get them again.
It also MOVES. Unlike a lot of Adventure Games that ask you to get very familiar with a few areas, Goosebumps doesn’t seem to have tons of puzzles . You’re constantly being shuttled to the next FMV setpiece, to the point where there are a lot of screens that don’t actually serve a purpose except to establish a few seconds atmosphere.
The plot also just kind of “ends”. Maybe there’s multiple endings for getting all of the trading cards or whatever, but the build up to and conclusion of the finale feels convenient and weird. Even one of the characters basically says, “I don’t know how I did this, but I’m doing it!” and almost basically winks at the camera as he says it.

But given its length and thick cheese, maybe it’s not so bad. I could see me pulling this out once a halloween just to watch two hours of weird costumes, dopey greenscreening, and an inexplicable cameo from Jeff Goldblum.
