Of course PETA has created a Pokemon parody, timing its release with Pokemon Black 2 and White 2’s launch:

“The amount of time that Pokémon spend stuffed in pokéballs is akin to how elephants are chained up in train carts, waiting to be let out to “perform” in circuses. But the difference between real life and this fictional world full of organized animal fighting is that Pokémon games paint rosy pictures of things that are actually horrible.”

PETA’s Marketing Innovations director Joel Bartlett adds, “Games such as Pokémon send kids the wrong message that exploiting and abusing those who are defenseless is acceptable when it’s not. But with Pokémon Black and Blue, children can experience the great feeling that comes from saving others from harm.”

Hahaha, shouldn’t Peta know not to mess with Nintendo fans after the Mario 3D Land fiasco? Also, they’re the ones depicting the Pokemon all beat up and…having medical needles stuck in them? Uh…okay…

Sometimes I think PETA is a right-wing front group trying to make people hate animal rights activists. >_<

Maybe they think they need to pick up the slack after those commercials featuring Wendie Malick where they show you horrible pictures of dead and dying animals in order to guilt trip you in to donating to the Humane Society.
I get that’s an important issue, and those animals really do need help, but those commercials are usually so shocking that I just change the channel until they’re over. I feel like I’m being bullied in to donating.
“IF YOU DON’T DONATE RIGHT NOW, THIS COW IS GOING TO BE BULLDOZED OH WHOOPS TOO LATE. P.S. WE’RE GONNA RUN THIS COMMERCIAL OVER AND OVER EVERY 20 MINUTES FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE”
