So Sonic games typically have control problems anyway and when you mix a Sonic game with the Kinect apparently it is a comedy disaster.

Which is a shame, because I… consider the first Sonic Riders game sort of a guilty pleasure. It had some interesting ideas and under the right conditions I have fun with it. The main problem with it is that the difficulty spikes pretty hard in spots because of some of the control decisions they made (the air-as-fuel system and slipstreaming), but I like the way the trick system works and once you get the hang of cornering it’s really not so bad.

Unfortunately, Sonic Riders Zero Gravity threw everything I liked about Sonic Riders right out the window and made a game that feels like it is on autopilot half the time. Sonic Freeriders seems to continue the trend of “We don’t know what was enjoyable about Sonic Riders but we’ve been told to make another game anyway”.

In other news, yes, these guys are still playing Sonic games.
