Play any fighting games?

Fighting games are one of those things where I sort of want to enjoy them but probably don’t, really. I’ve never really “gotten” high-level play and most of the time with my friends it devolves down in to a game where I just want to say “okay, no hadokens”.

I am marginally okay at Marvel vs. Capcom 1 (Captain Commando + Venom for life), though, to the point where I was starting to scratch the surface on “strategy”. Last time I played the PC version of SF4 with my buds I was also starting to feel like maybe I was learning something, but that was months and months ago so I’ve undoubtedly forgotten everything.

But I will more readily just start playing a fighting game in singleplayer than I will some other genres I have vague interest in. For instance, I never play RTSes by myself, but me and my cousin play a lot of Age of Empires 3 (we comp stomp, because that just works out best for us).
