It is weird to me that these kinds of games are quickly becoming a “thing”. I mean, isn’t this basically just what Sonic and the Secret Rings was? And yet, Sega has abandoned those types of games when really, you’d think they should be expanding upon them. To a certain degree, they were sort of pioneers in this “genre”.
I mean, just port a version of Secret Rings to the iPhone and see what happens at least, you know? It would probably do extremely well. Maybe sell it for like, $5 or $10 per-level. Or even do a remixed version of the game - cut down the number of missions, accelerate the leveling so Sonic powers up faster (which is the “good part” of the game), and release that.
