Keith: This is— I can’t— I can’t even begin to state how much better it feels to watch this.
Kyle: [Giddy] I know!
Keith: I know that… there were… we had some “fun”… playing Sonic 2006, only because—
Kyle: We HAD to.
Keith: We had to! But a lot of that was so… miserable. It was really, really really… painful.
Kyle: Yeah. Remember what I said? Chemo therapy. I feel like I am prepared to get cancer now.
Keith: You know how when you sigh? You go, [sharp exhale] and you stop sighing? Sonic 06 makes you want to keep breathing out until you are nothing but a husk.
A few weeks ago GAF pointed out this “Let’s Play 20 Years of Sonic” video series and I’ve watched a few episodes here or there. It’s pretty high quality - these guys have professional-level mics, good speaking voices, and they’re actually pretty funny. They can have short tempers with some games and I felt they were a little unfair to a few games I genuinely like (I liken their Sonic Battle episode to basically being a really bad GiantBomb quicklook, where it’s two guys dogging on a game because they’re skipping tutorials and have no idea how anything works), but who cares?
I don’t know if I have the wherewithal to watch all 100+ episodes of this, because it’s all mostly games I’ve already finished myself, but when I do get around to watching them, I rarely regret it. Give it a watch.
Or don’t. Whatever.
